HONG KONG
The partnership between the University of London and HKU SPACE spans over six decades and is marked by academic excellence and continuous collaboration.
Lizabeth Chang – Alumna, LLB
Formerly a leading actress in the vibrant Hong Kong entertainment industry, Lizabeth Chang chose to embark on a new and challenging career path within the legal sector. Today, she holds a respected position at a local law firm, a transition she credits to the rigorous and rewarding University of London LLB programme.
For Lizabeth, the degree was more than just an academic pursuit; it was a catalyst for profound personal growth. "The programme broadened my mindset and deepened my understanding of society and human behaviour," she shares. This newfound perspective proved invaluable, both personally and professionally.
Even amidst the challenges of a global pandemic, Lizabeth found a strong sense of connection with her classmates. She fondly recalls how they leveraged social media to study together and support one another, creating a modern and resilient learning environment.
Lizabeth wholeheartedly recommends the programme, emphasising its focus on developing crucial skills in critical thinking and problem-solving. She attests that the degree not only equipped her for a successful legal career but also fostered significant personal development. Describing the programme as "transformative," Lizabeth strongly encourages anyone seeking a path to growth and a more defined career to consider this life-changing opportunity.
SINGAPORE
In April 2025, the Singapore Institute of Management held graduation ceremonies for its University of London programmes, attended by senior figures from the University of London and its federation members.
For a student, graduation is not merely a ceremony. It is the culmination of their years of dedicated efforts, resilience, and ambition in the pursuit of further knowledge. This April, close to 1,300 students from the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) – University of London (UoL) programmes marked the end of one journey and the beginning of another.
Each graduate has walked their own path, overcoming challenges, seizing opportunities, and forging friendships that will last a lifetime. As they celebrate this milestone, they stand united in their shared achievements, ready to step into the future with confidence.
Devanshi Soni – Alumna, BSc Business and Management
I entered SIM-UoL expecting a conventional university experience. I soon realised that the most meaningful lessons came from tackling challenges, questioning assumptions, and applying solutions to real-world issues.
Studying Business and Management, I explored how organisations function, but I was especially interested in how they scale while staying socially and environmentally responsible. This curiosity encouraged me to explore sustainability beyond coursework. At the SIM Economics Society, I moderated a panel on the green economy, discussing how businesses can integrate sustainability into economic growth. At the SIM Young Entrepreneur Network, I hosted an episode on mental health and wellness, examining its role in sustainable practices.
Realising that true sustainability requires supporting both systems and people, I took action beyond discussions. I founded the Paalan Foundation, a non-profit focused on circular economy, social equity, and community resilience. What began as a small initiative has grown into a team of 50+ volunteers leading 35 projects, impacting over 4,000 people through tutoring, menstrual health awareness, and waste reduction efforts.

Being part of the student community at my Recognised Teaching Centre in Malaysia has made studying Law an inspiring experience.
Our classes are filled with passionate, ambitious students who challenge each other to think critically and debate constructively. Whether we’re analysing case laws or discussing legal ethics, you can feel that there is a real sense of collaboration and shared purpose.
Furthermore, local tuition has been one of the greatest advantages of my studies. Having direct access to experienced law lecturers who guide us through complex legal principles and case analysis has helped me build a strong foundation in both Common Law and international perspectives. The interactive discussions and tutorials have turned theory into practical understanding.
Moreover, the academic environment at my teaching centre is very supportive and encouraging. From well-equipped libraries to cozy study spaces, everything is designed to help us think like lawyers in a comfortable environment. The lecturers encourage us to question, reason and communicate with precision – skills that are essential in legal practice.
Our connection with the University of London gives our local experience global weight. Knowing that we are part of a long-standing institution that has produced world-class legal minds adds pride and motivation. Despite studying locally, we share the same curriculum and academic standards as students in London and beyond.
Looking ahead as a future University of London Law graduate, I feel confident that my degree will open doors across the world. The blend of local support and global recognition has not only strengthened my academic skills but also prepared me for a meaningful career in law – wherever justice calls.

Noor Ul Huda – Student Ambassador, LLB
I recently completed my LLB (Hons) with the University of London, Class of 2025. Looking back, studying with the University of London through Denning Law School in Karachi has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my life.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of studying with a foreign university, to be part of a global academic community while staying rooted in my own city. The University of London’s transnational programme made that dream a reality. From the very first week, I knew I was stepping into something special.
At Denning, the student community was unlike anything I’d experienced before, supportive, ambitious, and genuinely kind. We shared the same determination to excel, and that sense of togetherness carried us through the toughest days. The local tuition at Denning played a huge role in shaping my journey. The faculty’s constant guidance and open-door approach gave me both clarity and confidence.
What truly amazed me was how connected I felt to the University of London, even from across borders. The Online Library, past papers, and discussion forums became my daily companions. The support was always accessible – from study tips to academic resources, making me feel like part of a global family rather than a distant learner.
In my final year, I had the privilege of becoming a Student Ambassador for the University of London. It was beautiful connecting with students from all over the world, some nervous, some excited, all full of hope. Through Discord, we built friendships and shared experiences that reminded me of how powerful this global network truly is.
Graduating in 2025 was emotional. It was a mixture of pride, gratitude, and disbelief that this journey had come full circle. Studying locally with a world-class university has given me not just a degree, but a perspective, a voice, and the confidence to dream even bigger for the future.

Arianna Ali – Student Ambassador, BSc Psychology
The decision had been made: three years of staying home for a secure future. While I struggled to accept that studying abroad wasn’t an option, I had to face reality. I was going to stay home and earn a local degree, one I assumed wouldn’t hold much value internationally. That was until I discovered the University of London’s Recognised Teaching Centres.
A King’s College London degree offered from the comfort of my own city meant I could receive world-class education while remaining close to my family. It allowed me to give them the stability they needed before I eventually leave for my Master's. Over the past year and a half, every twist and turn has made me incredibly grateful to be studying locally.
My parents worked tirelessly to put me through an American school, and being able to ease their financial burden, even slightly, feels rewarding. Each day has been a new adventure; one moment I’m preparing for an exam, and the next, I’m working at one of Lahore’s most prestigious markets!
There have been highs and lows, but one moment stands out most: the day my father was rushed to the hospital after a stroke. Panic took over, but the thought that if I had been abroad, I wouldn’t have been there for him, was overwhelming. Sitting beside him and my mother in the hospital reminded me why this path mattered.
Studying locally has not only given me a world-class education but also the priceless gift of being present for the people who matter the most.

Abdul Basit – Student Ambassador, LLB
Starting my journey at Blackstone School of Law was both exciting and daunting. I stepped into a new environment, studying a degree that was unfamiliar in my country, with no friends and no idea what to expect. But from day one, the Blackstone community guided me every step of the way.
The faculty, student services, and staff all come together like a family – supporting you from your first class to your final career decisions. Whether it’s an academic query or career advice, there’s always someone ready to help you move forward with confidence.
Blackstone doesn’t just teach you the law – it helps you live it. From competing in Moot Court and Alternative Dispute Resolution competitions, I learned the art of advocacy, teamwork, and leadership. The faculty not only prepares you for such challenges but celebrates your achievements as if they were their own.
Of course, it’s not all about studies. Events like our Debating Sessions fill the campus with laughter, creativity, and friendships that last far beyond the classroom. It is where memories turn into milestones. What makes it even more special is how University of London stays connected with us. Meeting Patricia McKellar, the Dean of Undergraduate Laws at University of London, and other representatives, showed me that we are part of a truly global family.
University of London doesn’t just exist in London – it lives in every Recognised Teaching Centre around the world, including ours at Blackstone. Standing beside Patricia McKellar felt like standing with the very spirit of the University – a reminder that no matter where we study, we are all part of one global story.

Huzaifa Rajput – Student Ambassador, LLB
My Recognised Teaching Centre has been more than a second home to me, a place where I found friends who weren’t just there for exams but for a lifetime of growth. From late-night group studies and chai sessions to attending internships, seminars and moot courts, so much of my journey happened because of the institute’s community spirit.
Attending a Recognised Teaching Centre gave me many practical benefits. I found wonderful mentors who didn’t only teach the modules but showed me how to apply them in real life. Extracurricular activities such as intra-moots, sports fests, and more helped me develop leadership skills and boosted my confidence.
I truly believe you can study anywhere, but a recognised institute gives you structure and support so that you are exam-ready. If I ever struggled, there was always someone to talk to and teachers who would arrange extra classes. Being at a Recognised Teaching Centre also made me feel more connected to the University of London: university staff visit regularly, we can raise concerns in meetings, and there are orientation sessions with practitioners, career fairs and company visits that help with networking.
All these experiences make me confident about my future prospects as a University of London graduate who studied locally. The academic training, practical exposure and the professional connections I built here have prepared me not only to graduate, but to step into the legal world with real skills and a network to support me.

Hanya Haroon – Alumna, LLB
My professional journey as a corporate and trial lawyer finds its foundation in the University of London LLB programme. The academic rigour, intellectual independence, and global perspective that this programme cultivates have been instrumental in shaping who I am as a lawyer today.
The emphasis on analytical reasoning, legal research, and independent study trained me to approach every legal challenge with precision and clarity. These skills have proved invaluable in my practice areas – intellectual property law, brand enforcement, media and technology law, cybercrime regulation, competition, and corporate compliance – where complex regulatory and cross-jurisdictional questions often require both doctrinal depth and strategic foresight.
The programme also exposed me to a global academic environment that broadened my understanding of international enforcement and harmonisation of IP rights. This perspective continues to guide my work when advising multinational clients and representing them before the High Courts of Pakistan, the Intellectual Property Tribunal, and regulators. Beyond technical knowledge, the University of London instilled in me a culture of self-discipline, perseverance, and intellectual curiosity.
Balancing the demanding coursework with practical legal experience taught me how to think independently, reason critically, and advocate persuasively – qualities that continue to define my professional ethos. Being ranked as an “Up and Coming Lawyer” by Chambers and Partners 2025 is, in many ways, a reflection of this academic foundation and the mindset it fostered. The University of London LLB programme did not simply teach me the law; it taught me how to think like a lawyer in a global context, a perspective that continues to inform every aspect of my work and advocacy.
BAHRAIN
Aleena – Current Student, BSc Business Administration
Hi! I’m Aleena and I am an international student studying at Euro University of Bahrain. I was born and raised in the UK, but am ethnically Palestinian, and have recently moved abroad to Bahrain to pursue an undergraduate degree in Business Administration.
I was inspired to study at EUB as it hosts University of London programmes, meaning the degree would be an international award and can thus be used globally. Also, the relatively small campus works to our advantage as students, whereby we can have a more direct interaction with professors, and smaller class sizes for a more personalised learning experience.
Relocating to another country is not the easiest thing to do, but having such a supportive group of people at university has really helped; from staff helping with the admin work, to classmates giving food recommendations, they have really helped me feel more comfortable and at home. EUB has become my home away from home.
PAKISTAN
Shahan Siddique – Current Student, LLB
I chose the University of London because I wanted to become a lawyer through a system that truly values critical thinking and conceptual understanding. I wanted an education that develops sharp legal minds and the University of London offered exactly that.
My experience so far has been a journey of transformation. I initially struggled to adapt, as I wasn’t used to studying in a system that prioritised reasoning over repetition. The open-book exams in my first year eased me into this new approach, but the second year’s closed-book exams tested my ability to merge conceptual understanding with structured preparation. Over time, I learned how to think, analyse, and express myself more effectively. My tutors at CLLB have been exceptional, not only as educators but as mentors who guide us with the kind of discipline and perspective that extends beyond academics.
This journey has also been one of personal growth. I began as a reserved and low-confidence student, but through opportunities like representing CLLB at a National Moot Court Competition at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Sheringal, where we won the Best Memorial Award, I realised my own potential. Later, being elected President of Olympiad 2025 and chairing Mock Pakistan National Assembly and other sessions further strengthened my confidence and leadership. Participating as a witness in mock trials and interning at chambers every summer have also helped me connect theory with practice.
The University of London has not only educated me but reshaped how I think, communicate, and see myself and for that, I am truly grateful.

LEBANON
Rania Ghazzawi – Faculty Member
As a dedicated lawyer intern and passionate member of staff, Rania Ghazzawi immersed herself in the Master of Laws program with the University of London, not only as a student, but as an advocate. She spent countless hours researching the programmes structure, exploring its diverse specialisations, and understanding the global benefits of earning an LLM from such a prestigious institution.
Her enthusiasm was contagious; she spoke about the programme with conviction, encouraging students to pursue it as a pathway to professional growth and intellectual empowerment. While she herself embarked on the journey, balancing work and study with admirable discipline, unforeseen challenges in the country, marked by the pandemic and a deepening financial crisis, forced her to pause halfway through.
Yet even in the face of personal setback, her commitment never wavered. She continued to uplift others, sharing her insights, offering guidance, and reminding students of the value and prestige the University of London degree holds. Her story became a quiet beacon of perseverance, showing that even interrupted dreams can inspire others to persist.
Her presence at our RTC remains a source of motivation, and her belief in the transformative power of education is felt in every conversation she has with aspiring students. We hold hope that soon, she will walk across the stage, diploma in hand, embodying the very success she championed for others.
Her journey deserves to be completed – not just for her, but for every student she inspired to believe in their own potential.

Ahmed Khalid and Aliyah Alaadin – Current Students, BSc Computer Science
Computer Science students Ahmed Khalid and Aliyah Alaadin at the European Universities in Egypt (EUE) have spearheaded the initial phase of a novel research initiative, supported by EUE Teaching Assistants Malak Medhat and Steven Hany.
The students have made a presentation at a scientific conference on the occasion of the EUE “Year of Health” in October 2025. The project aimed at developing a system to assist physiotherapists in monitoring their patients’ exercise form.
The system enables users to upload short videos of themselves performing prescribed therapeutic exercises. Each repetition is then compared against a curated template of correct form examples – validated and overseen by a physiotherapy professor at EUE – to evaluate the overall quality of execution. User-specific performance data are systematically recorded and subsequently presented to the individual to facilitate progress tracking.
The students intend to further enhance the system by incorporating a broader range of exercises and refining the accuracy of the form-assessment algorithm.

TUNISIA
Baya Marrakchi – Current Student, BSc Data Science and Business Analytics
From the very first day, I knew this programme was where I was meant to be. The London School of Economics had always been the university I aspired to join, and when I found out that I could pursue the bachelor’s degree I’m passionate about right here in Tunisia, it felt like the perfect path for me.
Switching from learning in Arabic and French to studying entirely in English was a real challenge at first, but it pushed me to grow and also to improve not only my language proficiency skills but also the way I think and express myself. Adjusting to a single, year-end final exam was also something new for me, yet it taught me to plan my studies over a longer period and stay consistent throughout the year. Even though it was stressful at times, seeing my efforts rewarded through prizes and awards made it all worth it and motivated me to keep striving for more. They were a reminder that hard work pays off.
What stands out most to me, though, is not just the academic side. For me the best part of this whole journey has been the opportunity to meet inspiring people from the global University of London community in real life thanks to the LSE Summer School. What started as connections turned out to become lifelong friendships, people I still keep in touch with and deeply care about, even after returning to Tunisia and spending over a year apart.
This journey has been about much more than education; it has been about discovering that I have a place in a wider community.

Kristy Ramjattan – Student Ambassador, LLB
My time at the Institute of Law and Academic Studies (ILAS) in Trinidad and Tobago continues to be an incredible part of my academic journey. From the very beginning, ILAS provided a structured, supportive, and welcoming environment that made studying law both exciting and fulfilling.
Attending physical classes allowed me to interact directly with lecturers and classmates, ask questions in real time, and engage in meaningful classroom debates. These in-person discussions helped me better understand complex topics, and made learning much more interactive and enjoyable.
One of the highlights of my experience has been the sense of community. I became part of a vibrant group of classmates, people I study with, exchange ideas with, and truly call friends. Peer support is a big part of ILAS, and whether through study groups or cultural activities, I have always felt connected and encouraged.
The administrative team at ILAS deserves special praise. All members are approachable, caring, and always willing to assist, whether with academic matters, technical help, or personal support. Based on my own personal experience, I need to give a special mention to Mrs. Vanarrise Jagdeo. She has been more than just an academic advisor, she has been a true pillar of guidance and genuine care. Whenever things become overwhelming, she is always available with the perfect balance of warmth, nurturing, and honesty. Having her support has been a blessing - not just for me, but for every student fortunate enough to know her.
ILAS didn’t just help me gain knowledge, it helped me grow. Being able to attend classes, be a part of a real academic community, and then return home each day feeling accomplished is something I truly value.
