FINAL THOUGHTS

From Bill Abraham,
Director of Development

Thank you to all of you who have supported the University over the past year.

Our purpose

The University of London was founded on the ideals of inclusivity, diversity and collaboration, and I am proud to have worked at the University for more than seven years and seen the impact that this truly global institution continues to have on people’s lives.

The ongoing success of initiatives like the University’s Refugee Law Clinic is simply not possible without the support of donors and the legal community. It also shows the power of collaboration, with many parts of the University coming together to change people’s lives.

This past year has been especially challenging: for our students, our colleagues at the University, and for many of our friends around the world. During a time of immense struggle and displacement for so many, it was heartening to see the continued support from so many alumni and friends, and the direct impact such generosity has on those who need it most. Collectively, we raised in excess of £3.4million (up 24 per cent on the previous year) from 671 donors. We also saw an increase in the number of alumni getting involved with the University to volunteer their time and become one of our growing number of Alumni Ambassadors.

“I am proud to have worked at the University for more than seven years and seen the impact that this truly global institution continues to have on people’s lives.”

Bill Abraham.

Student support

The past academic year 2021–2022 also saw record numbers of University of London students benefitting from scholarship support, funded through the generous donations of our alumni and friends. This support has a transformational effect for those who receive scholarships, as well as their families. It can also directly effect change within local communities and shows how access to education can benefit society as a whole.

We see first-hand the impact that your support can have on students like Georgia Suárez. Being able to grow our scholarship programme will allow more students to consider a place at the University of London as within their reach. Thank you to all those who have kindly supported our students. The contributions you make, no matter what their size, have a profound impact and help to shape a better world for us all.

Thank you

Our work has never been more important and we want you to know how grateful we are for your support. Thank you.
