Keynote Speaker
Dr Chan is a University of London alumna and over the course of her career has achieved remarkable success in three distinctive fields - academia, finance, and law. She has been teaching an MSc course on "Deep Learning" in the Department of Computer Science since 2018 and has been running an AI start-up since 2019. In 2019, Dr Chan was also invited to deliver a lecture on AI and Deep Learning for the HKU Space Executive Training Course for the senior government officials from Bangladesh Ministry of Public Administration.
At this event, Dr Chan will discuss how AI can enhance legal practice, as well as the challenges, risks, and ethical questions that lawyers must consider when integrating AI tools into their work.

Supporting University of London
University of London’s new strategy is guided by three key themes:
- strengthening our special federation of outstanding higher education institutions to drive meaningful change;
- transforming the lives of learners everywhere by expanding access to high-quality, affordable, lifelong education;
- bringing people and organisations together to build, explore and engage with knowledge in ways that benefit society
Below we share some of the ways you can support this vision.
Access to Education
Scholarships enable talented and deserving students to complete our programmes, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed.
Scholarship support plays a vital role in ensuring that students around the world can access a University of London education, regardless of their circumstances. Donations of any size will go towards ensuring that students, no matter what their financial background, can fulfil their potential.

Library Transformation Programme
The University is embarking on an ambitious multi-year project to transform its Senate House Library.
Led by the University’s history and values, we will make Senate House Library a universal portal to knowledge, inspiration and connection; a window to the world for millions across the globe.
HKU SPACE
The University of London is honoured to co-host this event with HKU SPACE, with whom we share a proud partnership spanning more than 60 years.
Since our first collaborations on law programmes, the partnership has grown to include a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees across business, finance, computing and the humanities, delivered under the academic direction of several University of London member institutions.
We are delighted to be joined this evening by Professor William K.M. Lee and Dr John Cribbin from HKU SPACE, who have played a key role in supporting this longstanding partnership.
